Video Summary:
SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger welcomes participants from around the world to the World Frog Day event. He invites everyone to share where they are joining from and engage in the celebration.
Kyle Sather, a long-time SAVE THE FROGS! supporter, introduces the Froggy Forts project he co-founded. The Froggy Forts are designed to provide essential habitat elements like shelter, water, and food sources to support native frogs in people’s backyards and local communities. Kyle demonstrates the features of the Froggy Fort and explains how it allows people to have wild frogs as “pets” without domesticating them.
Jessie Robertson, a long-time SAVE THE FROGS! volunteer, shares how she discovered the organization in 2012 and became inspired to use her frog art to raise awareness and funds for amphibian conservation. She discusses how her artwork aims to educate people about different frog species and the threats they face.
Marina from Cameroon provides an update on the conservation status of the Goliath frog, noting that their numbers are decreasing and more conservation action is needed to protect this species.
Dr. Kriger wraps up the event by answering a variety of questions, touching on a range of subjects including environmental careers, chytrid fungus and amphibian education strategies. He encourages participants to get involved in Save The Frogs Day events on April 28th, access the organization’s educational resources, and continue supporting amphibian conservation efforts. He highlights upcoming events and opportunities for further engagement.

Feedback From Participants
.π£ βIt’s fascinating to me how much more attention amphibians have been getting in recent years, and as a result – how much more information there is now! When I share my art, I now occasionally encounter people who are familiar with the idea of amphibian declines, and the idea that frogs & amphibians act as bioindicators! Five years ago, that would have never happened. And the fact I can constantly find recent research and articles has been exciting to see.β β Jessie Robertson
π£ βI always enjoy your different publications on Facebook. You are doing so great, and most of your flyers inspired us when designing our own. Thank you, Kerry!β β Marina Kameni, Herp-Cameroon
π£ βPeepers and wood frogs are out calling in the vernal pools in Pennsylvania. I love spring migration!β β Alyssa Carroll
